Money advice that respects your intelligence.
We started FinanceZola because most personal finance content is either oversimplified, sales-driven, or written by people who’ve never had to budget a paycheck. We wanted something different.
Built from real financial mistakes
FinanceZola began as a personal notes document. Its founder, Sarah Malik, spent years untangling her own finances — high-interest debt, confusing bank fees, and side hustles that promised more than they delivered.
What started as notes for herself turned into guides for friends, then into full articles, and eventually into FinanceZola: a place to answer the money questions people actually have, in plain language, without an upsell at the end of every page.
Today, the site covers personal finance, banking, investing, and making money online — each guide tested against one question: would this actually help someone make a better decision with their money?
The principles behind every guide
Accuracy first
Every number, rate, and claim is checked against primary sources before publishing — and rechecked when things change.
No jargon
If a concept needs a finance degree to understand, we haven’t finished writing it yet. Plain language, always.
Reader-first
We write for the person trying to make a decision this week — not for search engines or affiliate quotas.
Full transparency
When a link earns us a commission, we say so clearly. It never changes which product we recommend first.
Free, always
Every guide on FinanceZola is free to read, with no paywalls or “premium” tiers gatekeeping useful information.
Kept current
Rates, apps, and rules change constantly. We revisit and update older guides instead of leaving them stale.
Growing because it actually helps
We track one thing above traffic: whether readers come back. Here’s where things stand.

The person behind the guides
Sarah Malik
Sarah started FinanceZola after spending years untangling her own finances — bad debt, confusing bank fees, and side hustles that didn’t work out. This site is the guide she wishes she’d had: tested, specific, and written for people who just want their money to make sense.
Our editorial standards
Independent research
We don’t accept payment in exchange for a favorable review. Every comparison is based on our own research and testing.
Fact-checked before publishing
Every rate, fee, and figure is verified against the official source before an article goes live — and again when we update it.
Clear affiliate disclosure
Some links may earn us a commission at no cost to you. We disclose this openly and it never dictates our recommendations.
Regularly updated
Interest rates and terms change. We schedule reviews of older guides so the information stays accurate over time.
